The president of Association of Nepalese in Quebec (ANQ) Mr. Muga Rajbhandari concedes that Montreal's Nepali population is tiny but the needs for their quake-stricken homeland are great.

Immediately after hearing the devastating earthquake news in Nepal on April 25th the ANQ started raising funds to assist the Nepal’s earthquake victims. They have launched numerous campaigns including online, public fundraising, movie screening, Candlelight Vigil, Yoga lesion, Email campaign etc.

As of June 15, 2015 they have raised more than $26,000. According to the ANQ it has already sent $15,000 to Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) via NRN Canada and $ 10,000 to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund via Embassy of Nepal in Canada for immediate relief of earthquake victims and reconstruction of Nepal.
